uniform
All air cadets and uniformed staff are to wear uniform. They are similar to the uniform worn by the Royal Air Force. In the picture above, starting from the left, the first man wears our No 2A Service Working Dress. This is a Wedgewood blue shirt, skirt/trousers, jersey, beret and a tie. It is usually worn at formal parades and formal events.
In addition, there is also No 2C Working Dress (the last man in the picture) which consists of a dark blue shirt, a jersey, skirt/trousers, beret and black shoes that should be polished regularly.
No 1 Service Dress is worn by the officers and sometimes by Warrant Officers and Senior adult NCO's. This tends to be worn on formal events and parades. It includes a Wedgewood blue shirt, skirt/trousers, a tie and black polished shoes. There is also gloves worn.
Another type of uniform that we have is our No 3 Operational Dress (three gents in the middle). This consists of a beret, trousers, top, green t shirt underneath the uniform, jacket and black/brown boots. It tends to be used for field activities. The blue rank slides can be worn at the front of the uniform. If a jacket is not worn then sleeves of the t-shirt can be used rolled up or down, usually weather dependent.
In addition, there is also No 14 Dress which is worn by the pilots and Instructors at AEF's and VGS's. The typical dress consists of a green flying suit.
