CAMPS
Air cadets are able to go on a variety of camps every year and these are located all around the UK. Many of these will be on RAF bases. They will take place throughout the year mainly in the holidays. Air cadets can gain much experience about life on the RAF bases, gain skills that can be used in day to day life and get many chances to get flights in various helicopters and planes which are one in a lifetime opportunities.
At our Squadron, we have held our own camp in 2012 and 2011 called Auchengillan which is located just outside Milngavie. This involves many different activities such as camp craft, mountain biking, ropes course etc. These are just some activities that you may get to go at other camps as well. Each camp will be unique; different from the rest. Whenever you go, it will be excellent. Some overseas camps may be arranged around the one module such as First Aid etc but you will get a chance to choose which one you would like to go to. Some of the camps may mean that you have to camp out but others may provide their own accommodation for you.
