Shooting
Cadets all over will get the chance to be involved in some target shooting. They will be trained on how to the weapons and make sure that health and safety plays a vital role while the cadets handle any of the weapons. Trained staff will be supervising at all times during the activities. They may initially be trained on weapons such as Air rifles or the No.8 which will all be carried out on a range (indoor or outdoor) which they will fire blank rounds from the weapon straight onto the target.
Throughout the year, air cadets get the opportunity to be able to take part in shooting competitions where they can compete with other cadets throughout the country. Also, individually the air cadets are able to gain awards and there are four of these which start from Squadron Marksman, Wing Marksman, Region Marksman and Corps Marksman. That is the order of the awards from lowest to highest and air cadets are able to wear this badge on their brassard.
