First Aid
First Aid is a skill that is learned through the Air Cadets as it is important in military life and civilian life. Hopefully the basics of First Aid is learned within the cadets but a cadet can take this further by attending certain camps and going to certain courses to build their knowledge.
The basic course tends to be the Heart Start Course which teaches cadets the basics of First Aid. It can include things like recovery position, CPR, heimlich maneuver etc. This allows the cadets to firstly get a taste of first aid and know hopefully know what to do if any accident or an emergency occurs.
After the initial training, cadets are allowed to go on various courses. Some which lead to the air cadet gaining a First Aid badge to put on their brassard.
Courses for adult staff are also available to teach them them useful First Aid knowledge and this means they can pass their knowledge on to cadets.
