DUKE OF EDINBURGH
This is an award that young people are able to gain and it is deemed highly by employers. This can be done at three levels: Bronze, Silver or Gold. Each level has different rules. They all have at leaset four different dimensions to complete - expedition, volunteer, skills and physical. However, Gold also has an additional dimension - residential. Gold is the highest level that can be achieved which means it has the most work within it. At each different level, you may have to do each of these parts for a longer time. Volunteering is to undertake service to the community for a period of time. Physical is to learn a new sport or fitness activity. Skills is to develop a new skill for example a social skill. Expedition is a 1-3 nights journey around the UK. This must be planned and trained for. There is also age limits for each of the levels.
